Merger of Barts and The London NHS Trust, Newham University Hospital NHS Trust and Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust
Barts and The London NHS Trust, Newham University Hospital NHS Trust and Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust are proposing to merge.
The CCP welcomes submissions in writing from interested individuals and organisations on this issue or any other matter relevant to the CCP's assessment of this transaction under the Principles and Rules for Cooperation and Competition. The closing date for initial submissions is 15 June 2011.

* At the end of Phase I, the CCP will either:
- recommend that the merger be allowed to proceed, or
- recommend that the merger be allowed to proceed subject to measures agreed with the parties that address concerns identified by the CCP during Phase I, or
- proceed to a more detailed Phase II investigation.
** Phase II allows the CCP to conduct a more in-depth investigation where this is required to fully assess a merger.
